Who we are

Since 2009, Lyon Expat Services has assisted expatriates, mobile executives and international students arriving in Lyon by offering a variety of services to make their integration and stay in Lyon as smooth as possible.

Through its national and international network, Lyon Expat Services can also manage issues related to job mobility for French and non-French executives throughout France and the entire world.
Lyon Expat Services is a limited liability company managed by Sophie Dord with the help of a team of consultants in national and international mobility.
Sophie Dord has an educational background in interpreting and translation and has lived in the United States and Spain. Twenty years ago she moved to Lyon, France, where she now lives with her husband and children.
Before creating Lyon Expat Services, she worked for 10 years for the “Festivals Internationaux de Lyon et Rhône Alpes” (including the Biennale de la Danse and Biennale d’Art Contemporain) in logistics and the administrative and operational organization of Biennale festivals.

Lyon Expat Services works very closely with the expat.org network, an information hub for relocating employees throughout the world with an active presence in more than 50 cities in the world, particularly through its local site in Lyon: EXPAT AGENCY LYON.

All relocation services related to the national and international mobility of executives and expatriates:
Support for settling into Lyon (search for temporary or permanent housing, signing up for schools, visas, etc.).
Assistance for leaving Lyon: establishing contact with relocation professionals throughout France and the entire world.
Lyon Expat Services works closely with the human resource departments of national and international companies, or directly with French and foreign individuals themselves.

We work in close cooperation with individuals and real estate agencies.
We help executives, expatriates, and foreign students find housing.

Support to help foreign students settle into Lyon:
Assistance with the search for furnished apartments, student residences and host families.
Establishing contact with hospitality associations for international students.
Arranging events for international students and French students, etc.

Homestays in Lyon, Paris, and throughout France:
We put international students seeking to live in Lyon or Paris into contact with French families.
We welcome individuals as well as school groups.
Homestays may range from a few days to several months.
We are expanding our services throughout all of France.

Language stays in Lyon: learn French in Lyon:
Lyon Expat works closely with language schools offering French classes in Lyon.
We provide support and advice to foreign students (adults and minors) who want to learn French in Lyon.
Lyon Expat provides support for foreign exchange students who would like to enroll in a French high school and share the daily life of a French family.

Language stays in the USA:

This stay can be a true exchange (an American student also comes to France) or not.
